Mittens v1.0

That is not to say that I invented mittens, just that these are my first attempt at them.  They were made using this pattern. Yarn is an 80/20 (acrylic/wool) blend.  The gauge is a little looser than I'd like, but in spite of that, they resisted the snow pretty well.  I wouldn't suggest this prototype as your first alternative for long term snow exposure, but in terms of a decent mitten, these aren't bad.  All told, I'd say it took about 12 hours for the pair.  Which is awesome.

Everything has to start somewhere...

I took a mythology class a couple of semesters ago.  The professor claimed that beginning stories set the tone for the entire life, attitude, etc of an organization, club, whatever it may be.  That may or may not be true.  If it is, then I guess this post ought to be as epic as I hope the rest of this blog's future could be.  I'm not really sure what this is going to be yet, though.  A place to show my awesome projects?  I sure hope so.  A place to share what I hold to be true? That too.  I guess we'll just have to wait, and see.
